Behold European Grandeur

A Worldly Venture to Famed Continental Capitals

Prague · Budapest · Vienna

When visiting one city is just not enough, the Israel Is Real “Behold European Grandeur” tour is the perfect combination of history, art and Judaic ancestry with visits to three of Europe’s most renowned capital cities ~ Prague, Budapest and Vienna.  From “the City of a Hundred Spires” in the Czech Republic to Hungary’s majestic River Danube to the bountiful Arts of Austria, every day is filled with wonder and excitement.

The tour begins amid the colorful baroque architecture and gothic churches of Prague, exploring its must see Old Town Square, the medieval Astronomical Clock and statue-lined pedestrian Charles Bridge that dates back to 1402.  The city is also rich in Jewish tradition and no trip is complete without discovering the many famed synagogues, Holocaust memorial wall and Old Jewish Cemetery in this European capital.

Budapest is equally rich in heritage and was home to a thriving Jewish community before WWII. Our well-versed guides bring this history to life with visits to the magnificent Dohany Street Synagogue, Ruin Bar in District VII and Fröhlich Confectionery.  Other highlights surrounding the riverbanks of Hungary’s capital include the 19th-century Chain Bridge, 13th-century Matthias Church in Trinity Square and battlements of the Fishermen’s Bastion.

Behold European Grandeur concludes in Vienna, long known as one of Europe’s truly artistic and intellectual treasures. Shaped by names like Mozart, Beethoven and Freud, the city is also known for its imperial palaces, numerous museums and the Vienna State Opera. Complex is a word best used to define Vienna’s Jewish heritage and we explore why it’s often referred to where the new state of Israel was born.

Each city’s sites are vast and far too many to highlight. These are just some of our favorites.
